Communicating a Radical Future

Framing complex issues

What makes a powerful argument and how can you make sure it’s framed to appeal to the people you need to reach?

At the kickoff of the Aspen Institute's 2020 Healthy Communities fellowship, we practiced:

  1. How to use the power of story to spread big ideas

  2. How to build an argument that media makers want to publish and readers want to read

  3. How to lean into our expertise even when we don’t feel comfortable calling ourselves experts

Here’s the thing: someone is telling people what to believe and what kind of attitude to have toward people and ideas and how to behave toward specific communities.

No matter what you're advocating for, your message has to be delivered clearly and persuasively to compete with the barrage of information we’re all exposed to.
